How have you been?

Hello lovely friends, old and new. It’s been a while; I’ve missed my little corner of the world.

I am on a long summer weekend with my kids, who seem to have grown up overnight. The last time we visited Nantucket, the kids were 13,11 & 7; fast forward ten years, and one’s graduated from college and moved away, another is working toward their degree and working full-time, and my baby is a senior in high school, deciding where to go to college.

The last three years have, at times, dragged yet flown by too. I am beginning to realize that it is one of life’s great mysteries. They seem to drag when things are difficult and persistent. In the laughter and little joys, it flies by. I guess the lesson is to soak it all in and treasure the fleeting times when life seems perfect.

We’ve settled nicely into our little home, slowly making it feel more like us. Like always, when time and money permit, I dream about what I’d like to do. Which I hope to share with you along the way.

I hesitate to say, right now, we are good. It’s almost scary to type that. We’ve been through a lot, and it hasn’t dimmed the children’s beautiful light. As for me, I’m not sure; I think I’m still finding my way and place in this incredibly beautiful and humbling universe.

I think the older I get, the more questions I have. Does anyone else feel this way? So here, together, maybe we can talk some things through. See you soon.

Much love,

Susan
